Just like at school, we have a set uniform in place, to allow the dancers to gain a sense of belonging, feel a part of the team and gain a sense of pride from being part of an awesome dance community! It also saves the all to often fashion dilemmas!
Teaching dance safely is important to us and as part of the safe dance principles, we ask that once you have enrolled, you do get the proper dance shoes and uniform required for each style of dance.
All uniform pieces can be purchased through the studio and we aim to keep costs to a minimum so it is affordable for everyone. Shoes can be purchased from Bloch at Hornsby Westfield (when you enrol you will also get a special card which gives you access to discounts!)
IF IT IS YOUR FIRST TIME COMING TO THE STUDIO: for the first couple of weeks, any singlet/top and shorts/tights are fine to get started if you are not sure about your child’s confidence to participate in the class. Sneakers are fine to wear until you are sure that your child will be continuing the class.
ORDERING YOUR UNIFORM
All uniform can be purchased through the studio to keep it easy and convenient for our families. As we can’t keep alot of stock at the studio, we use an order form system to purchase uniform.
- Fill out an order form at the studio outlining which package or individual items you would like to purchase – please indicate their usual clothing size – place money and form in the envelopes provided and give to the teacher
- Your brand new uniform will be given to you the following week in class
FOR OUR ‘GROOVERS’ STYLES (Jazz, Hip Hop, JFH, Tap) the following is required:
• Black Jigsaw Shorts
• Tan tights
• Black Jigsaw Tank Top or Black Leotard or Blue Jigsaw off the shoulder top
• Black lace up or slip on Jazz shoes (Jazz)
• Black lace up or slip on Jazz shoes or plain black sneakers (Hip Hop & JFH)
• Tan buckle up tap shoes (Tap)
FOR BALLET CLASSES the following is required:
• Black skirt
• Black leotard
• Pink ballet tights
• Black headband
• Pink leather ballet shoes (black for boys)
FOR CONTEMPORARY & LYRICAL BALLET CLASSES the following is required:
• Black Jigsaw Shorts
• Pink convertible tights rolled to the knee
• Black Jigsaw Tank Top or Black Leotard or Blue Jigsaw off the shoulder top
• Foot thongs
FOR OUR TIPPY TOE COMBO & STEPPING STONE COMBO CLASSES the following is required:
- All in one Jigsaw leotard dress
- Black crossover during winter months
- Pink Ballet tights
- Black Headband Optional
- Pink Ballet shoes
