Q: Can mum and dad watch the dance class?
A: First time parents of the younger groups may watch the beginning of the first class to help settle dancers in. After this we find that the children respond much better without parents and siblings in the studio. However, after many years of experience, special tactics are used for those who have trouble separating from their parents, so don’t worry if it takes your dancer a couple of weeks to feel comfortable and participate.
For all other classes, parents are not permitted to enter or be present in the studio once class has commenced. It is distracting and unsettling for all the dancers. We will give the parents a chance to have a sneak peak for the last 10mins of class during the final week of the term 1 and 3.
Q: Is it compulsory to perform in the end of year dance concert?
A: Our concerts are not compulsory but highly recommended. It’s a fun and entertaining experience for everyone involved and a great way for your dancer to show off all their hard work they have done through-out the year. Our concerts are designed to be pressure free and as relaxed as possible for everyone involved.
Our end of year concert is usually the 2nd Sunday in November, so the dancing year finishes before the massive rush and commitments of Christmas start.
Q: Can we enrol to dance classes after the term has started?
A: Yes – we accept new students throughout the year. Just email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for an information sheet and timetable.
Q: Does Jigsaw Dance Hornsby break for school holidays?
A: Yes – we dance within the NSW Schools Terms, therefore following NSW School holidays and Public Holidays (except our starting week of the year and our finishing week of the year).
Also, our first week back always starts on a Monday (unless it’s a Public Holiday) even if your child’s school has a pupil free day.
Q: Do I need to buy dance uniform or shoes before I enrol?
A: No – dancers trying classes for the first time are encouraged to come in comfy clothes and sneakers. Uniform, shoes and accessories can be purchased at the studio either on class days or at the start of the year at our Enrolment Festival Day where all uniform will be discounted.
Q: How can I pay for dance classes?
A: We have a range of options to pay for your dance classes. Cash, Direct Debit, Personal Cheque, money order and Credit Card. At the start of each term you will receive an invoice for your classes for the coming term. Any outstanding fees from the previous term will be added to your invoice so you are aware of where your payments are up to.
Q: How do I order uniform?
A: As the teacher is often busy teaching in class it can be difficult to try on uniform. If you need to try on uniform, we have samples of each size that you can freely try on before of after class in the toilets provided. Once you are happy with the sizing and uniform you wish to purchase please fill in a uniform order form and leave on the studio desk and a new uniform will be ready for you the following week. Uniforms can be paid for on the spot or can be added to your term invoice.

Q: What uniform is suitable for which class?
A: All uniform items can be purchased individually. However to make things more affordable we offer packages of the entire uniform for each genre at a discounted price.
Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, JFH & Cheer – Groovers Package 1 or 2 – Leotard or tank top, shorts & tan tights)
Ballet: To the Pointe Package 1 – Black Leotard, black skirt, pink tights & headband
Contemporary: To the Pointe Package 2 – Black leotard or tank top, shorts & pink convertible tights
Of course if you are doing several genres we can make things even more cost effective by purchasing the COMBINED UNIFORM PACKAGE which includes the leotard, shorts, skirt, tan & pink tights

Q: What is the best way to get in contact with Miss Tash?
