CHILDREN’S DANCE CLASSES – JIGSAW DANCE STUDIO HORNSBY / WAHROONGA
At Jigsaw Dance Studio Wahroonga, we offer an exciting and unique approach to teaching the art of dance, where our main focus is on inspiring young dancers to create dreams and passions of their own and feel good about themselves and their achievements. We do this by running our classes in a non-competitive environment where everyone is made to feel special, as we believe it is important to nurture confidence and foster a positive self worth. Our goal is to ensure that students learn in a fun, safe and nurturing environment, whilst still developing a high standard of dance technique.
We are passionate about helping your child find a passion in the performing arts and we strive to make your experience an affordable, positive and happy one.
Going into 2017 we are excited to offer a range of classes in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Cheerleading. Classes are conveniently run right next door to Wahroonga Preparatory School in the St John’s Uniting Church halls. Feel free to come along for a pressure free trial class to see if your little one enjoys themselves.

About Miss Tash
Miss Tash has been dancing for 17 years covering all styles of dance while under the guidance of some of Australia’s most prestigious dance teachers and choreographers. From a young age Tash was involved in all things dance, performing at the DET schools spectacular, touring in Queensland for the Showcase Nationals Dance Competition in which she was in the top placing’s, and entering into many eisteddfods both as a soloist and as a part of a Jazz troupe as well as doing student choreographies and improvisation in Contemporary and Classical Ballet. Tash has entered into many ballet exams from the tender age of 5 covering both the B.A.L (Ballet Australasia Limited) and R.A.D (Royal Academy of Dance) syllabus. During her junior grades she received Honors with distinction, the highest mark possible and then later sat her Senior Ballet exams, training up to an Advanced Foundation level. Whilst at school she had the privilege of being taught by leading Contemporary choreographer Jason Winters, where she undertook dance as an elective for her HSC at Ecole Ballet and Theatre. As well as this, she voluntarily taught dance at a local primary school, catering to all ages and abilities and also choreographed her former high school’s musical production, ‘Back to the 80’s’. In 2017 she will be returning to choreograph their next school musical ‘Grease’.
Tash is currently completing her Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management at the Australian College of Dance, giving her valuable skills and knowledge in how to teach dance safely and correctly. She regularly takes dance classes of her own to ensure her choreography is current and in trend. As well as this, she is an affiliate member of the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (CSTD) allowing her to teach, famous choreographer, Jason Winter’s Contemporary syllabus and enter students in exams for this.
Tash is a dedicated and passionate teacher, going into her seventh year of teaching. From a very young age it has been her dream to teach and nurture children, and allow them to create a passion and dream of their own. She finds that being a teacher is one of the most fulfilling and rewarding careers as every day she is able to see the children grow; both as dancers and people. Although she loves and has trained in all styles of dance; Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop and Ballet are among her favourites and she hopes she can pass on her knowledge and passion to her students. She looks forward to meeting you and your dancer soon!
